BBS Main Meetings

Our meetings are usually held over two days. The BBS is always happy to hear from other societies that would be interested in holding joint meetings. Please contact the Secretary or the Chairman for more information.

BBS One Day Discussion Meetings

These provide a forum for informal meetings that can be held outside the normal meetings schedule of the BBS. They are particularly appropiate for more specialised topics that might not otherwise be covered in a full meeting and can include workshops. The BBS are keen to promote and provide some sponsorship for these meetings although they are expected to be largely self-financing. Rapid decisions will be made about BBS support. The BBS invites members who wish to organise these meetings or propose topics to the Meetings Secretary.

BBS Lectures

BBS Lectures

The BBS offers sums of up to £100 to relevant student societies - biophysics / biochemistry / physiology / chemistry / physics - to cover the expenses of an invited speaker to lecture on a biophysical theme. Enquiries and applications, together with the name of the proposed speaker, title of the lecture, and justification of the amout requested should be sent to the Secretary. After the BBS Lecture has taken place a short report will be required for publication in the BBS Newsletter.

The BBS Newsletter

The BBS produces a newsletter 2-3 times a year. We have recently switched to an electronic Newsletter which is quicker to publish, however paper copies will still be distributed to members without email. Current and past Newsletters can be found on the WWW pages.
